The father son team of Ralph and Noah Cave began in 2003 when Ralph formed the Ralph and The Rhythm Hounds band to give his son Noah a band to perform with. Noah Cave is the front-man for the band.

Ralph is a blues guitarist, vocalist, and harmonica player. Ralph is the Cave family’s third generation blues artist. Ralph’s father was a blues harmonica and slide guitar player and his grandfather was a blues guitarist.  Ralph’s father taught him how to play the harmonica and Ralph’s love for the blues was born from watching and listening to his father’s band playing and singing the blues.

Noah Cave, guitarist and vocalist, and is the Cave family’s fourth generation music artist. Noah Cave’s first studio recording session took place in 2003. Many subsequent studio sessions helped him develop his vocal and lead guitar skills culminating in the release of the “Mesmerized” album in 2016 with drummer Calvin Todd, bassist Jay Tucker, (aka J Scarr) and his father Ralph Cave. The album was recorded at Ambient Studios in Cincinnati, OH and is streaming on CD Baby, Spotify, Pandora, and many other sites.

In 2018, Ralph and Noah teamed with drummer John Griffin and bassist David “Tiny” Enderle to create a modern blues band that is on the cutting edge of the Modern Blues and Blues Rock genres.

As a result of being awarded 1st place in the 2019 Dayton Blues Challenge, and the 2021 Cincy Blues Challenge, the band was awarded the right to perform in the 2020 and 2022 International Blues Challenges in Memphis, TN. Their performance during the blues challenges led to them becoming a blues festival headliner in 2021.

The band released its first two song EP in April of 2022, Poor Man’s Prayer and Hole In My Heart . Both songs are streaming on Spotify. Spotify has created a Ralph and The Rhythm Hounds Playlist you can listen to!
